Today received rest of books from this series and once again I can tell that this is not the company you want to use for prep. The idea is good, but implementation is very poor. Why would they put false and misleading information on cover is a question. Number of questions they state is not in place, some teacher recommended and they put it on cover. Very few problems per page. Paper quality is very bad, plus rest of books came wrapped. Totally disappointed.

I purchased these math books to help my kids stay on top of curriculum in school. Unfortunately, my experience with these workbooks has been far from pleasant. It's very frustrating when there are mistakes and typos in a book especially for a child. A child is supposed to learn from good examples and now my child is even more confused on some topics. Not many questions per page so not many questions compared to Spectrum or other books. If this company fixes the ridiculous mistakes in the book, it would be satisfactory.

Disappointed is just easy said. I was so happy when saw new materials available out there. I am a retired teacher/tutor with 10 years of experience. I tried these books with my students and we found countless number of mistakes. Some books even had print issues, several books were printed up-side-down. I will not use it anymore as it is not what I have expected. Just spent $150 for nothing.

The book is very thorough covering all the topics of common core including various types of word problems.The questions are neatly printed and adequately spaced out so that the students can show their work.My daughter really enjoys solving the problems in this workbook.

Ordered sample copies of each grade to check it and place bigger order for whole school. But after checking it, I will return these books. Found lots of wrong information, structure of the book seemed confusing, and some questions are really too hard for a particular grade. Will not use these books for our school 100%.

Good material for common core. Challenging and interesting questions. Some questions have multiple parts which is a good practice for performance tasks tested in common core exams. I don’t see any issues with the questions. They are all good.

Very different than other books available for 2nd grade. Several word problems and explanations-type questions.

It had the right level of challenge for a 2nd grader. This book is quite a value for the money. It has neat illustrations and good explanation for the answers. Would definitely recommend.

this workbook is thick, covers a lot of different subjects and is perfect for pre-teaching over summer and winter break.

We homeschool our kids and I was getting so frustrated making my own worksheets. We did research, decided to try the Brain Quest books, and I am so glad we did! They're fantastic. Colorful, fun and engaging, the kids prefer them to "mom's boring worksheets". Also, with a degree in education, I feel qualified to say that the material itself is solid for the grade levels. We'll be buying more from Brain Quest as the kids progress!

I found this to be a very helpful selection of workbook sheets to support the curriculums I was using for the 8 month period of time we needed to homeschool our daughter. They were colorful, they were interesting, had review boxes on the topics covered, and some of them were challenging for her, which I like. I was using a lot of different resources, so we only made it through about 60% of these sheets, but I thought they were well done and I have no problem recommending this as a supplementary workbook.

I use these workbooks to round out our homeschool learning. The kids do well with them and usually enjoy the work. Since we are relaxed/eclectic and do not use any comprehensive curriculum, the workbooks have helped me greatly in pinpointing particular areas that require further practice. They are also helpful when I'm putting together portfolios. Written work in each subject is all right there in one place, and all I have to do is tear out some good samples of each and file them with the rest of our records. We've used Pre-K through 4th grade so far, and I highly recommend the series!

I ordered this workbook along with Summer Transition between 2&3 even though my daughter was transitioning from Grade 1 to 2. Her skill level is at a higher level as per the benchmark analysis from her school. We got started with this book even before we completed the transition book just to try out. So Math sections of this book is definitely challenging for my daughter and she has to seek help multiple times. We are not pushing her and she is taking it at her own pace but just wanted to note that the math is truly at a Grade 3 level. Non-math sections are a bit too easy for my daughter. But it is a blessing in a disguise someway. She feels slightly scared about the higher level math but she is able to boost her confidence through non-math sections. She kind of feels that she can do Grade 3 math if she can do Grade 3 non-math. I am not talking about the logic here but the way my daughter is feeling about the book. As I mentioned in other review, if your kid has drastic disparity in skill levels between various subjects, then may be you need to look for specific subject workbooks. Alternately, you might want to spend time sitting with the kid to choose what she wants to do. If the skill levels match, then kids should be able to read and understand the concepts by themselves - very minimal parental guidance required.

Kept our kid on track over the summer to get him ready for third grade. Unfortunately, the school curriculum barely covered any of these things - which were things I learned by 3rd grade. I'll say that the Brain Quest book was more useful than his third-grade teacher, beyond any doubt.

We like to use these workbooks over the summer to keep skills fresh. My son is going into third grade and has been able to do most of the pages in this book without issue. 309 colorful, engaging pages that take just a few minutes each to complete. Some of the math is a little beyond what he's learned in school (ie division, decimals), but most other parts of the book haven't been too difficult for him. He's a smart kiddo, but not GT or anything. Highly recommend these for all grade levels! My soon to be first grader can also do most of the work in the 1st grade workbook (same situation- smart but not GT).I hope you found this review helpful! If so, please click the YES button! I just started home schooling my third grader and she LOVES this book! Because we're at the end of Third Grade, the beginning of the book is pretty easy for her, but she really loves the flow and pace of the work.

My son is in 2nd grade, and we have continued to use 2-4 pages of workbook a night to drip him with a bit more challenge. His current 2nd grade homework takes him a matter of seconds. I feel the quality of the exercises are well done. We also have been using Big Third Grade Workbook and they are good quality products.
