Disappointing book, in its lack of depth. It starts well, with an excellent review of Norway's history, background, customs, and travel tips/recommendations.But I found the title to be misleading -- unless by "Norway", you are only interested in the area defined by Oslo, Bergen, Lillehammer. Apparently there's little see farther north. Not a word regarding Trondheim, for example. I had expected more, based on other ratings.The author's use of the word "Snapshot" should be taken literally... :(

This guide seems geared towards older tourists who are most interested in driving everywhere, eating good meals, and sleeping comfortably at night. Does not appear to be useful for active, athletic and adventurous types who want to explore the beautiful outdoors off the beaten path. Furthermore, it contains nothing at all about the northern cities of Trondheim and Tromsø, and the “land of the midnight sun.” It’s hard for me to understand how a guide book could completely leave out one half of a country, as if it had nothing to offer. Quite disappointing, since I ordered this for a family member who is headed to Tromsø in just a few weeks.

Just what I needed, information on Oslo, Bergen, and the Norway-in-a-Nutshell fjord tours. Small enough I can take it with me. It's a couple years old (2015) so I've looked for updated info online both at his site (.../europe/norway/guidebook-updates) and some other basic transit info at links he provides. Rick comes through again.

Good overview of Norway, especially Oslo. Coverage of the rest of the country is hit & miss. Coastal areas and fjords are better represented than is the center of Norway. I would rather have had more detail and, on reflection, should have purchased the more thorough book. But this one did help me use the trains to areas I've never before been to, and enjoy a tremendously beautiful country.

I purchased this book because I planned on spending a day in Oslo during a trip to Northern Europe. I didn't have a chance to do any research before my trip and I ordered this book thinking it would be better than nothing. This book was a great guide. I felt that it guided me toward the important sights in Oslo and I found the information that it gave to be very helpful. There were free tours where he said there would be, the hours of operation of certain places were all correct, and I was able to read a good deal about some of the sites that I visited in this book. I highly recommend this book if you are traveling to Oslo. Unfortunately, I cannot speak to the rest of the book as I didn't have chance to venture outside of Oslo, but I would highly recommend it if you are traveling to Oslo.

Covered Oslo well but not the rest of the country. Trip Advisor forums were more helpful.

Edited to update: I wrote this review below while still doing my research on our 16 day Norway trip and I'm back to update. Our trip consisted of Andalsnes (not covered in this book), Alesund (not covered in this book), Geirangerfjord (not covered in this book), Bergen (good coverage, we scanned the pertinent sections into our phones), the Flam Railway (covered but he puts a higher importance on it than I do), Balestrand (again good coverage) and 5 days in the Lofoten Islands (not covered at all in this book). I stand by my review that I was very disappointed with the lack of coverage of this country. However, the small portion of the book we did use did give Rick's usual reliable and accurate information. Everything below this is what I wrote before we left.I've been to Europe 4 times and every time used a Rick Steves' guide book as my main source of planning. Though I am still in my planning stages for Norway, I am already disappointed with this guide.He leaves out large portions of the country including all of the northern areas. Gives way too much attention to Oslo, book space that could be devoted to more fjord coverage, the main reason people travel to Norway.He has a short paragraph on Pulpit Rock with no real valuable information on the logistics and doesn't mention kjeragbolten at all.I will use this guide but will be doing a lot more research on the Internet this time to plan probably half of my trip due to the lack of information in this guide. I can't speak to the accuracy or helpfulness of its contents until I return.

It’s intuitive - making it very easy to cruise around the book while you are planning . I also bought Lonely Planets Norway guide and I tried to use it but found it confusing and poorly laid out . This is my 5th Rick Steve’s travel book and he doesn’t let me down . Hey Rick - write books about regions or special events . We are planning a trip to Oktoberfest and want to know all the ins and outs like only you can do . Please ?😄

Wonderful to pass down a book to my grand daughter that I had as a child. We pick a new prayer each week to read a learn. Great family time. She loves the beautiful drawings as well as knowing the same book she now has, her mommy has one and her Ducky does as well. Family keepsake with a positive meaning.

I bought this as a gift for my friend's son who was being dedicated at church. My mother had purchased it for my son and I absolutely love the prayers, poems, and illustrations. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the quality of the book itself. It was bound in such a way that the cover did not cover the pages. The right hand side of the pages was sticking out. I know it's a small detail, but when you're buying it as a gift it would be nice if it were a bit better quality. It's a great price and my friend loved it, but I'd rather pay a little more for something better.

I'm a modern mom with old school values which I work very hard to instill in my child. This is a very simple prayer book for children that has prayers for different ocassions, themes, time of day, etc. My child loves it and has already memorized several of the verse like prayers in a very short amount of time. In general, Golden books are classics that children of all generations love. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars because I wish the illustrations of the children represented a more diverse ethnic background.

I always give this Little Golden book as a baby gift. Love Eloise Wilkins' illustrations! I had these as a child myself. So glad they're still available!

Eloise Wilkins illustrations are lovely.Prayers in this book are precious. I keep one for myself since it was my childhood favorite, i read it to my children when they were little, and i give copies to friends.

Even now as grown adults, my children recall fond memories of us reading these prayers, looking at the lovely pictures as they wound down for bed-time. I sent this to my daughter as a surprise gift for her 1&1/2 year old son. She was so excited to receive this book, and follow a tradition.

We love this little book of prayers. Such a great way to teach prayer to little ones.

This is a sweet Golden Book illustrated by Eloise Wilkin. I purchased this to read to my young grandchildren. I had her illustrated books as a child. I like to purchase them for my grandsons.

I helped co-teach this for a ladies Bible study. I felt that the book was very repetitive...same character qualities in multiple women. A number of the women mentioned don't have a lot of information given in the Bible about them, so a lot of it seems to just be assumptions about what it might have been like for them. I'd much rather study Biblical facts.

I got this book to read for a book club with my women's group at church. I wanted to like this book, but I really didn't. I was put off a bit by a man writing all about women, but really didn't appreciate the first chapter being all about women being submissive. I'm in agreement with a biblical view of submission, but having that be the focus of the first chapter in a book on women written by a man was uncomfortable. There were several instances of this type of male focused writing, so I eventually gave up reading it.

No doubt this is one of the best book I have ever read. Our church ladies have used this for our Wednesday Night Meeting. Have learned so much new information that we had no idea about. Highly recommend this book for your Ladies Church and even for individuals to read.

This is the second book I have read from this author. This book does not disappoint. John MacArthur chooses twelve women from the Old and New Testament and does a deep study on them. He uses Scripture to back up his thoughts but adds his opinions for the reader to consider. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing these women in some different ways than just the usual teaching about them.

As always I love John MacArthurs work. Perfect for growing in Christ as a woman. Pointing out the handful of women mentioned in thr Word for us; He explains things thoroughly but still is all backed by Scripture. Thank you!

This is an excellent group or personal study of how God used ordinary people to accomplish HIS extraordinary purpose, to complete His plan of Salvation, and to encourage & grow believers. Great personal introspective questions.

I enjoyed this book tremendously. The author's perspective on all the women was on target and interesting. I loved his book, "Twelve Unlikely Heroes" and I was glad to find this book. A good read for all Christian women and those curious about the people of the Bible.

Great book. Very detailed and easy to read. Although some of the women in our Bible study find it a bit deep, I find it fascinating that the author can find so much information about these women. I have always liked John MacArthur and respect his narrative as being backed up with scripture but some feel he is adding too much speculation. The only negative perhaps is you cannot break the chapters into sections if you are going to answer the questions at the same time as they encompass the entire chapter. A great deal of information to cover in our 2 hour weekly study-at least for many of the chapters. If you are reading this alone or if your group does not mind buckling down to study this is a wonderful book. I would highly recommend. Received as promised from seller.

I have loved reading this book for many reasons. It is very easy to read and the topics discussed are valuable to helping you flourish in any garden you have been planted in. This book Kati has written to help see mental health as less of a stigma and more of a true condition will help save others, because they will be understood and validated as a person. Her heart is very much for those around her struggling with any emotional or psychological battle. Thank you for giving a voice to a silent world.

I listen to this book twice on audible. Before that I was able to go through the book. This book is fantastic. I may call it a guide. This book is great for someone who is struggling about rather they can benefit for therapy. I told another friend about this book. And right away. She felt comfortable in making the decision to seek out help. There is nothing I can say negative about this book. It breaks things down and make it simple understandable and readable. It give you definitions explaining the different types of therapy. What I really like. Is the chapter. How do you start a conversation with your therapist and your needs. Pointers when you know you have a good therapist. Depending on your needs. This book is as close as you can get to helping find the right fit for you. Kati. You were right on when you published this book. I would recommend this book to everyone who is struggling. This is a book that can be recommended. This is a book that would benefit every library bookstore so that those who need it can have access to an excellent book that will help you find your way.

I haven't read through the whole thing yet, but even just waking up to this book at my coffee table makes me realize there are people like this author out there trying to give us a bit of extra help. I would highly suggest this for anyone struggling with any type of disorder, even just as a reminder that things can get better when things are going bad in your life. I also recommend her YouTube channel for extra input and more in depth help/advice. THANK YOU for making this book!

A very helpful book on mental health and mental illness. I love self help books and this is definitely one of my favorite.

We need a lot more efforts like this one. Kati does a fantastic job in presenting an introduction to the world of therapy and mental health. Anyone who ever has had thoughts of going for therapy, but was afraid of it should definitely read this book. As a student who is studying to become a therapist (and someone who benefited from therapy), I found the book inspiring, as would anyone who could benefit from therapy (which is everyone) and wants to become a therapist. Ignore the stigma our society puts on mental health and prioritize it as you would physical health! If you like the book (which you will), check out Kati's great videos on YouTube!

I perceived Mental health coming up more and more especially around the topics of EQ, VUCA, Industry 4.0 and transformation. People generally are experiencing higher stress levels with all the changes and I thought it was time to read a sorta primer to explain what mental health is and more importantly what it isn't. There is indeed a line between mental health and illness and whilst few people would question why one would read a book about health, the moment the word mental is inserted I'm expecting a lot more questions as its bordering onto a taboo subject, I guess mainly as its been avoided, swept under the carpet and generally misunderstood. So this was my foray into educating myself so I had some grounded knowledge on the topic.Anyway, I found this an interesting read and a good background primer on the topic, so give it a read if you want to know more about it as its quite light reading.

I’ve been a longtime follower of Kati Morton on YouTube, and this book brings together everything I’ve come to appreciate about her: her kindness, her expertise, and her practical wisdom. This book is self-help, but it also feels like a good, incredibly helpful talk from a caring friend. The internet and world are a better place for having folks Kati around.

I'm actually studying actuarial science, but this was a great introduction to a related (necessary) topic. Very readable and easy to understand.

Risk management can be a strange and mystical place.How can you plan for unforseen events?This book is a great starting place to become familiar with the basic tenets of risk management.It offers these in a straight forward and sometimes fun way.This should not be the only book on risk management but needs to be on your shelf.

I am using this for my Risk course. Very easy read but of course it should be.

Nice book for starters

I originally purchased this book for $3.00 in an outlet store. I work closely with a risk management team at work and wanted a reference book to help me understand the basics. After I was asked to help develop better better risk management practices, this book began to pay off. I purchased the kindle version so I could have a copy with me when I needed it. I use it frequently.

This book really helped get me set up with a solid basis. Better - more complete and easier to digest- than anything else out there. I work in a big financial company, too, and this helped shed light on how the concepts fit together. Too bad my management didn't read it before the crisis!

Super summary of concepts and issues on a complex subject. This book really worked for me and helped me tackle critical issues in my business!!!
