I "read" this book in about 20 minutes. It boils down to the networking equivalent of "water is wet".-it is filled with typos and formatting problems.-the information is so high level its like a collection of dictionary definitions.-Its connection to the CCNA is in numerous statements like " This is often a topic on the test." when discussing all of OSI and TCP/IP.If you have access to Wikipedia and 20 minutes read up on the TCP/IP protocol, Cisco IOS, and cisco networks. You will have saved money and spent your time better than i did.
The information in the book is helpful on a basic level. However, I have never seen a publication so horribly written and edited. Grammar errors, misspelled words and abbreviations, some of them critical (example page 15 Transmission Control Protocol abbreviated as TCO!) if you are a real beginner with no knowledge of the subject. Errors are so widespread that after a time they become a distraction to the reader.
poorly written. Very few examples or cross references. Many sentence structure errors and some examples were not given the right context. I feel english was the second language of the writer, and when technical information is explained, that lacks proper direction.
Not nearly in depth enough to be of use to even a complete beginner. Under 100 pages on a topic where most of the books are 2-5 times as much.
Please don't waste your money. This is not anything anyone with any knowledge of computers would not know let alone someone interested in CCNA.
This is perhaps the most poorly written thing I've ever read. Every third sentence makes little or no sense. I struggled to understand what the author was trying to communicate, even though I have considerable prior familiarity with the subject matter. I strongly suspect that English is not the author's first language.
