I had seen Kaguya-sama: Love is War come up on Amazon and I thought it sounded interesting. A few days ago, I picked up Volume 1 at my comics shop. It was better than interesting; it was a delight and I placed an order for Volume 2. Kaguya-sama is a terrific romantic comedy about two people who might make a great couple but they are hyper-competitive and believe whoever declares his or her love first will be the relationship's "loser", so they are always at odds. I found myself chuckling out loud at the mind games Kaguya and Miyuki play with each other, not to mention the way the third major character, Chika, always innocently stirs up chaos. The funniest story in Volume 2 has our trio reading a survey of teen romantic behavior and the sheltered aristocrat Kaguya misunderstands what "your first time" means. She makes remarks that cause Miyuki and Chika to think she is one twisted young lady and decadence among the upper classes is even worse than they imagined. Check out Kaguya's eyes as Chika provides some needed clarification. There is also a nice story about a visit from French students and what happens when Miyuki's minimal French leads to some interesting situations. If you enjoy romantic comedy, Kaguya-sama: Love is War is very highly recommended.

The back and forth between the two characters and the reactions they have are to good.

Great manga and keeps getting better.The art is fantastic and the changes in style to fit the characters feelings is one of Aka Akasaka's strong points. The story is starting to just develop and I can't wait to get volume 4.

One of my favorite romcom stories out there. Would easily reccomend.

Hilarious

So much like my review of the first book, this is rated lowly for similar reasons, except instead of being better this one somehow manages to showcase the flaws of this translation even more.The translations aren't necessarily wrong most of the time, but a lot of the time things are worded in ways that really do not match the personalities of the characters speaking them. Having Hayasaka saying something juvenile as "butt-naked" was probably the worst offender, but there are countless other ones to be found throughout.But the worst thing in this book is probably "Battle 20", where I feel like the people who handle these books truly don't understand why people enjoy this series to begin with. The chapter is all about how Shirogane is the only one at a party who doesn't know French. The humor of the chapter is all about him wandering around talking with the limited amount he knew from a French phrasebook. With one punchline revolving around the "How cute" running gag, being spoken in French. Yet the translators completely missed the point of this, and decided to translate the French, and telling us that "Comme C'est Mignon" means "How cute" in parentheses underneath. This is honestly kind of insulting, because the entire point of that gag is that the majority of readers wouldn't know French, but would recognize what that phrase means just from the usage of the running gag alone.One of the things that is consistently praised about the series is the smart writing, specifically in the way the author shows respect to the reader by not insulting our intelligence. Unlike a lot of other works, this series doesn't assume the reader is an idiot, or possesses the memory of a goldfish. The humor is tied very well into the ability for the reader to recognize the consistent gags without the writing signposting it and hammering it in to make sure we "get it." Yet, this book did a pretty good job of spitting in the face of that spirit, and once again I can't review this positively, as much as I wish I could, because of that.Hopefully the quality of the translations improve in the upcoming volumes, because I truly am saddened that I have to give this series I adore, another 1 star rating. Because it really does deserve better, but in this state I can't recommend a purchase because what is here doesn't live up to the name.

Realmente tengo que decir: que no es un mal libro pero no es a lo que nos tienen acostumbrados estos autores. La intensidad de sus anteriores trabajos aqui no estan.

No puedo dejar de felicitar a ambos aurores, son maravillosos a la hora de elaborar estas fantasticas novelas de intriga, suspenso, ficción, etc. Lo recomiendo ampliamente a los lectores de este genero.

I love the authors, the Pendergast series and was looking for the spanish version of it to give as a gift. Loved it!

The first book I read containing the character of Agent Pendergast was The Cabinet of Curiosities (I may have just paraphrased a book title--my memory is so lame these days) and I found it to be a most satisfactory combination of macabre fact, macabre fiction, hair raising action of the race against time and against all odds missions and compelliing characters, especially the mysterious and amazing Aloysius Pendergast. I learned something, having previously no knowledge whatsoever about Cabinets of Curiosity and the origins of Museums and as someone who spent a childhood happily wandering the Smithsonian Museums I appreciate that new insight and followed it up with some fascinating nonfiction reading. "The Reliquary" was an equally satisfying concoction from that basic recipe. Really, what more could a person ask for; fast paced fun entertainment from which one learns something so interesting you follow up that information on your own? For anyone interested in TED talks, Douglas Preston gives a fascinating one. Check it out. As for me, my next read will be the one the authors recommend in the post script to Reliquary, a non fiction called "The Mole People" about the thousands of people living in the miles of tunnels as much as 30 stories under New York. This I did not know, and it is so extreme and incredible I want to know more, though it is a grim commentary on what it is to be American, to be sure. So, all this superfluous verbiage when I probably could have just said "The Reliquary "- a fun modern science adventure a la journey to the center of the earth or Jurrasic Park (but like a million times better of course) with smart heroes and strong female characters, creepy creeps; obstructive jerks that remind you of people you have known and loathed, good science and evil science with riddles to solve and twists aplenty all consructed on a foundation of contemporary urban fact to spark the interest of the deeper intellect and lifelong learner. I hope that sums it up without spoiling it by spilling it.

There is a good amount of information in this book, but based upon the book’s description, I was expecting an explanation of how to develop with UEFI. Instead, this is more of a bird’s eye view of what the UEFI environment covers and why it was created. What UEFI/Tianocore really needs is an updated group of tutorials for people who are new to developing with UEFI and want to break into working with this envirment. This book does not provide anything close to a tutorial, and the tutorials available on the Tianocore GitHub seem to be out of date. For instance, when building UEFI2018 using the tutorials, I ran into several warnings, and even errors when building: there were headers missing, required programs that the tutorial didn’t mention, etc. I have checked the UEFI forms, and from what I have found, there are a lot of people with the same issue and no answer as to how to get UEFI working. I was hoping this text would help feel in gaps, but not even close. It’s mostly dry, and largely unhelpful information—reading the book cover to cover does not result in any actual “development” as is indicated in the title. They should rename this book to “Beyond BIOS: A UEFI Overview” because that’s what it is. I didn’t find anything in this book that isn’t available on the internet for free.

Good as a starter to UEFI and UEFI driver writing. Handy as a reference.

I used Zimmer, Rothman, and Marisetty's book as an introduction to EFI. Although it was a bit over my head, not being a driver/firmware developer, the book coaches the reader efficiently. But this is not a how-to or hand-holding introduction. You wont find a step-by-step guide to beginning EFI development. That said, after reading the book, I've been able to jump right into development of simple EFI applications. And I'm loving it! I would certainly recommend the book, but then again you're selection as far as EFI is concerned, is rather... limited. :)

Based on the title, I was expecting a book whose focus would be developing drivers and other interfaces to system UEFI software. Instead, the focus of the book seems to be largely a history and architectural overview of the EFI and UEFI standards and interfaces development, which is interesting to some software engineers, but not terribly useful to people hoping to interface to UEFI software. I am dating myself when I state that my experience as a PC BIOS user was of no help to that end, nor did this book help much either.

As expected.

I am a UEFI veteran. While the information inside this book is useful as a reference, it is terribly written.Many many times terms and abbreviations are used without definition before they are used. Diagrams are simplistic and many could be simple point-form short lists. Cross references to figures in text that don't exist. Sentences that obviously have never been looked at by an editor and make no sense. Sections that mention a protocol but never define or explain it. Change of names of terms midway through a set of diagrams with no explanation.It is clear that there were three authors and that for the most part they never talked to each other about the content of their chapters, because of the massive amount of duplication and (innacurate) assumptions made about content made elsewhere.Use this as a reference if you know stuff about UEFI, but learning from scratch with it is going to be pretty hard.

There are a lot of books written on the topic but most go into details about the judicial system or other areas of law that do not apply to contracts. I wanted a book teaching about contracts. This book hit the nail right on the head. It explains topics well and includes everything that needs to be talked about. I am not an attorney and i don't want to be. Be to me, contacts are important. They are the basis of our business world. This book fit the bill for me.

Interesting, well written book containing numerous, up to date examples of contract law. Be aware that your individual state may have additional rules regarding contract law in addition to the ones cited in the textbook, so additional research may be warranted. Most of the other people in the class seemed to like the book, too. As soon as the class was over, I posted it for sale here and it sold within a week.

The author of this book is awesome. I assumed that I would be reading yet another boring and confusing legal book for my Contract Law class. Not so, this guy is clear and concise, and provides a plethora of examples for what he is writing about. If this author wrote all my legal books I'd be loving my legal studies sooooo much more!

It was good, had alot of marking inside but expected it. There was one page that was partially torn that was not made known to me before purchasing it, it was none the less satisfactory

The book was supposed to be published by The Folio Society and it was instead an inexpensive printing that was part of a series. Very disappointed and it has made me lose confidence in the accuracy of the descriptions on Amazon.

While I was familiar with the story, having seen the film and listened to audio dramas based on this book, I had not read the actual book until now. BY Wells' classic tale of an evil man who discovered the secret of invisibility, his reign of terror and retribution are still a great story. I read this book using immersion reading while listening to the audiobook. The great Scott Brick masterfully narrated this tale in a beautiful British accent. The book has added scenes of filler, which are normally left out of the adaptations. I would love to see a modern production, faithful to the book. Once it gets going after a bit of slowness in the beginning, it is fast paced and exciting. The Invisible Man is often his own worst enemy, due to his temper, vanity and greed. Glad to check this classic off my list.

I love H.G. Wells! He was so ahead of his time with his science fiction.I decided to read this book because I recently read The Madman's Daughter trilogy, the first of which is a retelling of this book (which I highly recommend by the way!). It was very interesting to see what that author took from the original.This book was both thought provoking and absolutely creepy. It's a pretty short and easy read and totally worth it!The book itself is also beautiful and looks great on my bookshelf

This is NOT the book in the image nor is it Folio Society. While the image is a folio society book it’s not the Invisible Man. The book I received was of a quality (for lack of a better word) I’d expect to find in the youth section of an underfunded public library. I have since bought the Folio Society edition of The Invisible Man from ebay

This story was a bit shallow for a classic piece of literature. It was dark all the way through. The Invisible Man was an evil character with no redeeming characteristics. Unlike the monster in Frankenstein who originally had the human desire for companionship and acceptance, this character had sinister motives and nothing else. The only part of this book that I found interesting was the discussion and explanation of how invisibility was achieved. Other than that, I was happy to finish the book so I could read something else.

I knew the story already, having seen a movie version of it when I was a child. I didn't remember that the invisible man had character flaws which led him to hurt others and to think only of himself. I kept thinking as I read how strange it would be to actually meet an invisible person. Very unique and entertaining story.

The story itself earns a 5-star. BUT...this version on Kindle is practically unreadable, as the formatting is messed up. Paragraphs frequently broken into chunks, frequently a single word to a line regardless of the font or size font used. There are several other $.99 versions of this classlc available on Kindle, all of which seemed to have avoided this formatting pitfall. Buy one of those instead.

The message of this book still rings true today. In a world with ever-changing technology and scientific advances, we must still be careful of the impact of those changes and advances. Their effects can be far-reaching and sometimes can be irreversible.As to the writing in this book, the author creates a vivid picture in the mind of the reader of each character and their actions, building the tension with each page. In the days before technology brought us the "moving pictures" of the movies, this author was taking his readers for a suspenseful, action packed ride with only their imagination to paint the pictures in their minds. It is rich in the details of each person, each room, each scene that is before you. I pictured them all in my mind - making my own "movie of the mind". I have seen several movies that were based on this book in the past, but had never read the original book by H. G. Wells. The reading of this book made the best "movie" of all.

I selected this book in large part because it offered the free video course. After the purchase, I learned that the six video series is made accessible to you one-per-day over a six-day period unless you purchase an up-sell option to gain access all at once. The price is $50. I was fine with not paying the additional fee and accessing the information over the daily drip. However, after the first day, the subsequent videos would not play and I was instead prompted to pay the up-sell fee. I sent an e-mail to the "customer service" and never received a reply or any assistance. Given that, I can only surmise that the video course is a mere bait and switch and only works if you up-sell. Given this experience, I would advise that you keep looking for other resource options. I am giving 1 star only because there is no option for no stars.

I'm starting a podcast as a lead/feed/support for my business and this was one of the books I took a peak at via the sample download. I didn't finish reading the sample before I bought the book.Mr. Power is very straightforward in his objectives and the approach moves cleanly along from studio to gear on down to actually getting the podcast out there. You will need to understand how each piece builds on earlier chapters but read the book (more than twice, at least) and your only complaints should be on content and style. And that's something no book can claim to fix.I can't recommend this book highly enough.

This is the best resource I've found for a beginning podcaster's technical education -- just enough technical material (you won't be overwhelmed with tech-talk); solid advice you won't get anywhere else (why podcasting from your car is a good thing--who knew?); and a clear path, start-to-finish, on how to get started in the world of podcasting. This AND a video course and access to the author!?! This book will save you hundreds of hours of research, probably hundreds of dollars on equipment, too. The writing is clear and non-technical--and when it does have to get technical, the author provides clear explanation and introduction to new terms. So far, I've read about five books on beginning podcasting and endured a dozen or so Youtube resources and hundreds of webpages so I can safely say: Read this one first!

This ebook, "Introduction to Podcast Technology" is an incredible, thorough and concise explanation on podcasting. I have enjoyed podcasts for years now and it has been a dream of mine to launch my own podcast. One of the major roadblocks has been putting the pieces together to get my idea launched. David answered all of my questions and more! I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in podcasting AND those who want a great short course on audio technology. Most podcasts aren't exclusively comprised of the host rambling on solo. Podcast hosts often have guests call in to the show, as we all know. While the author adequately covers the technology to make sure that listeners optimally hear the host's voice, he gives zero information on how the voices of guests calling from a remote location wind up on the finished product.Turns out there are 4 major ways, some are simple, some are in-depth, they all involve technology, and the author clearly should have covered this indisputably integral topic. The author even off-handedly refers to guests calling in on Skype, but then does not reference the subject again. So, aspiring podcast, if you want to interview guests who are not on premise, then you better Google it, because this book completely ignores it.What a fatal flaw for a book that otherwise would have been 4 or 5 stars.

David Power does an excellent job in both writing and narrating this book. He is clear, concise and authoritative on his approach. Well defined, and edited. He leaves out all the fluff...he just gives you the information that you need to learn or tells you where to find it. I wish more books where written in this manner. Good job David Power.

I have a blog and was thinking of starting a podcast and this book laid everything out in a clear and concise manner. I will be looking into the video course and re-reading the book as I start my own podcast channel. A must read for anyone thinking of starting a podcast in the future. Highly recommend this book.
