This book is a must read for every woman who knows they are called to make an impact in the lives of others. Maybe you need someone to speak to that call you feel, but can't seem to apprehend it. While reading this book you will feel that the author is speaking directly to you and calling you to stand up in your call. You're not reading this comment by accident, the Spirit of God has something to show you through this book! I thought I found it accidentally, but after reading it I am certain my Father led me here to help me understand who He created me to be. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

Although it is a short read, it took a while for me to read because I ended up using this as a study. I like that there were so many scripture references, this made my study more effective. A must read for any woman in leadHERship!

This is one of the most profound books I have read. It both encourages and educates you. It makes you take a hard look at your life to see if you were called to leadership and helps you understand and gain the confidence to walk in your God given authority.

If I had to choose one word to describe this book, "The Deborah Anointing", it would be WEALTH. This small 135 page book is a priceless tool overflowing with a wealth of truths, revelations,divine discernment,empowerment,prophetic instructions, exhortations, and wisdom. I can feel the strength of the Deborah Anointing in the written words as I read them. The prayers and declarations are awesome! This is not the kind of book to be read one time and placed on the self. This is a powerful tool and one that I personally will use as a reference book; as a learning/teaching tool. She has a great understanding of women in ministry and how to encourage and inspire. Women wear many hats and this book shows us that it's ok, and that we are absolutely called. Eric and Jonathan cover a vast territory in their engaging discussion of Google's leadership in our software driven era. While their Google specific comments are singularly informed and compelling, I suspect their most valuable lessons are those applicable to virtually any venture. Many of these are recurring thematics within discussions of modern leadership, but rarely have so many useful concepts been so well and accessibly summarized as in "How." Despite 30 plus years in the business I furiously jotted margin notes throughout the book, reminding myself for instance, of the primacy of purpose, as illustrated by the story of a company, beginning with why it is important that it exists; the defining competitive separation afforded by traction and momentum or, get big fast; speed kills; iteration informs. This is a great read; informative, smart and wise, as reflected by their admiration of John Wooden and his aphorism "it's what you learn after you know it all that counts." For those interested I'll summarize below my 'Top 10' of the books many quality, illustrative elements. There are abundant actionable insights in this book and of course, the occasional tendril of presumption. Overall, my sentiment about the book is summarized by my ordering copies for my sons, nieces and nephews, regardless of the sectors they work within, or majors they are pursuing.My 'Top 10' of appreciated observations:1. Crowded work spaces fuel contagious energy and spontaneity; the physical presence of team members matters.2. Keep management lean, with numerous direct reports per manager to assure leadership is crisp and micro-management rare.3. Ignorance is not bliss, knowledge is instructive; share virtually everything about the company's business with all employees.4. Smaller teams for building products; larger to sustain and grow.5. Deliver transformative products, driven as much or more by insight as evident market demand. PS: platforms with leverage win.6. Leaders don't delegate hiring; hire smart, curious learners and pay handsomely for impact.7. Be mindful of your career objectives; sketch the larger ambition, then plan its execution, while remaining smartly opportunistic.8. Spend 80% of your time on the stuff that generates 80% of your revenues; the new is seductive, but keep your focus balanced.9. These employees would be extremely difficult to manage because they cannot be told how to think. “If you can’t tell someone how to think, then you have to learn to manage the environment where they think.”The managerial challenge is to create a place where smart creatives want to come every day, and so build a great company. Put in different terms – it entails creating a culture that will attract, retain and stimulate smart creatives. Culture, the authors explain, comes from the founders, “but it is best reflected in the trusted team the founders form to launch their venture.”The following incident describes the value of culture succinctly. Larry Page was dissatisfied with the adverts that come up when a search is made. He placed a memo on a notice board on a Friday afternoon describing his dissatisfaction.The authors report that “Jeff and team weren’t even on the ads team. They had just been in the office that Friday afternoon, seen Larry’s note, and understood that when your mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful, then having ads (which are information) that suck (which isn’t useful) is a problem. So they decided to fix it. Over the weekend.”It wasn’t the culture that turned the five engineers into problem-solvers whose solution changed the course of the company. Gr 5-10–In this addition to the series, readers join Pati Medici and her team in their quest to study tapirs in the world's largest wetland, the Pantanal Wetlands of Brazil. Although its appearance may lead some to suppose that the tapir falls somewhere near elephants or hippopotami in the family tree, this flexible-snouted, hoof-toed tropical creature is most closely related to rhinoceroses and horses. Medici has dubbed the tapir “the gardener of the forest” for its critical role in maintaining foliage by ingesting fruits and excreting the seeds elsewhere, but little else is known about this vanishing species. By observing and trapping the animals to outfit them with radio collars or microchips and collect samples including blood and ticks from infestations, Medici's team hopes to better understand their lifestyles to enhance conservation efforts. Although in-text pronunciation guides are included for some Portuguese names and select scientific terminology is explained, no glossary is provided, and many of the exotic birds discussed are not shown. Following each chapter are several pages of related information with text and photographs placed on top of a marbled background with shadows that can make the text difficult to read in some places. A list of several websites and YouTube videos is included, and the index differentiates between text and photographic references. A beautiful introduction to the elusive tapir and Brazil's Florida-sized wetland, the Pantanal. Sy Montgomery has written another wonderful book for budding and armchair field scientists, and she and photographer Nic Bishop both wind up having a tapir named for them by the end of the book.This volume in my favorite book series focuses more on the techniques and attendant frustrations of field work in wild places--there is a lot of discomfort and delay, but in the end the team of scientists, vets, scouts, and authors gain a lot of information on the target species, the Lowland Tapir. Keeping with this focus on fieldwork, the whole team is introduced in some detail, and one feels for the guy in charge of shooting a tapir with tranquilizer darts as he grows restless to capture a tapir that way, as opposed to a cage trap.There's even a sidebar on the Giant Armadillo that makes you wish for a book on that amazing species, still here from prehistory! There's mention of a Pink Fairy Armadillo too. But the tapir and the Pantanal (with all its ticks) are the stars of the show here, and the author's usual sure-handed prose touches make this another rewarding book to read as an adult, juvenile, or to share with a young child. Tapirs are unsung and amazing. Leader of the expedition, tapir scientist Pati Medici, also has a TED Talk for those who are interested in more.

Although this book is non-fiction aimed at young people, it is set up by the authors as a mystery thriller complete with fascinating cast of characters, suspense, and the excitement of the chase. The remote and nature-rich Pantanal wetland of South America is explored with beautiful photos and revealing descriptions. The book explains what tapirs are, where they live, a little of their history, and how they are related to other animals. We learn why they are endangered, and why it is so important and challenging to study them.Both traditional and cutting edge scientific methods are used used to study the tapirs and these are also explained in the book. The woman who leads the study, Patricia Medici, is an inspiring role model for any young, aspiring natural scientist.Highly recommended for 5th grade and above. Adults interested in nature and endangered species will also enjoy it. It makes for a wonderful coffee table book/conversation piece as well.

I purchased this book to find some good roadmap templates and examples. As I browsed through, few such examples existed. Bummer.Nonetheless, the book is a wonderful deep dive. On one level, it’s about product strategy. On a second level, it’s about how to effectively get your roadmap through an organization.I’m a grizzled 30 year product development exec. & I learned a lot from this book.

Developing roadmaps for products and services has become a prioritization and political nightmare for most organizations. This book provides a simple, yet appropriately sophisticated, approach to cutting through that mess. The authors recommend tackling roadmaps with a more flexible and realistic process. By decoupling the roadmap from feature lists and product release cycles they have provided product leaders (and teams) with a tool that delivers value to the entire product org. My feeling is that this book could become the go-to manual for product planning in the months and years ahead.

The product roadmap is one of product management’s most commonly requested document and the most misunderstood. Executives reference the roadmap to monitor their pet projects. Sales people use the roadmap with customers to show features to be delivered in the future (“and if you buy today, I can guarantee these features next week!”) Marketing teams use the roadmap to align product releases with industry events. The New York Subway turns 100! On October 27, 1904, people in the City of New York walked down flights of stairs, paid a five-cent fare, and for the very first time rode beneath the city's streets aboard New York's very first subway. One of the most fascinating aspects of subway history is the evolution of rolling stock, from the original cars of 1904 to the most modern of today. The punch-out models in the Subway Punch-out Book represent sixteen different subway (and elevated) cars that have provided service in New York over the past hundred years. They range from "high-tech" R-143 units that have recently entered service, to older cars that have not carried revenue passengers for almost 50 years. Many of these vintage cars can still be experienced in a real-life setting at the New York Transit Museum, in Brooklyn. Here, in a genuine subway station, a wonderful collection of rolling stock has been restored and preserved so future generations will be able to understand something about the subway tradition whose centenary we now celebrate.

Excellent example of the printer's craft. Perfect color, binding, die-cuts. Very impressive. But the subway cars are not drawn to scale. A 60' IRT car is virtually identical to a 75' BMT car. The widths should also be different but they are not. If you can live with that, fine. But if you're interested in accuracy, look elsewhere.

Lots of interesting history facts, and fun to assemble.

This is my go-to birthday present for 3 year old boys. I've bought 4 so far and the boys have loved it.
